- Manuka honey is characterised by its very special, bold flavour. The honey is made with nectar from Manuka bush blossoms (Leptospermum scoparium). The honey has a particularly high methylglyoxal (MGO for short) content, which is said to have an antibacterial effect. This makes the honey attractive for both sweetening your food, supplementing nutrients and using for external skincare products. The MGO specification tells you how many milligrams of MGO are contained in one kilo of honey.
- Hoyer sources its organic Manuka honey from its partner apiary, TranzAlpineHoney NZ Ltd. in New Zealand.
